This worked fine in the developed Core worlds.
In Star Wars the Galactic Republic had no national army between the the Ruusan Reformation (1000 BBY) and the start of the Clone Wars (22 BBY, less than 3 years before its demise), instead each planet was responsible for the security of itself and its system with its Planetary Defense Force (also called Planetary Security Forces). Fight on either the Light Side or Dark Side. Failing that, at least it aired on a Toonami block somewhere on the planet Earth. This was not a Toonami exclusive, but it did air at various points on Toonami.
The Clone Wars Planetary Forces game coincided with the Clone Wars 2003 microseries.
